We enjoyed Nettie\'s quick wit in her later years when she visited us and when we visited her along with Dick and Bev.

Many happy memories of my dear friend. She inspired me to become a "swimmer" and a "genealogist." Thanks, Nettie.

Over the weekend, Shirley and I read with great sadness about Nettie\'s passing. We had the pleasure of being her neighbors to the north for several years on Williston Ave. in Wheaton. She touched us in many ways with her kindness and friendliness and blessed us with her grandmotherly touch when we had our first child, Caitlin, in 1986. I would like to forward a couple of photos of Nettie and Caitlin via e-mail if possible if you\'d provide me with an e-mail address. Nettie often came over to talk with us and to play with Caitlin in her early years. She also gave us a baby gift of a baby blanket that became Caitlin\'s security "blankie" for many years. In fact, Caitlin, who is a high school senior now here in Wheaton and about to start college in the fall, still has the blanket or what remains of it in her room today. It it the single most important item of her childhood that she has never given up.
Our deepest condolences to you in this time of sadness. We\'re sure that, like us, the pain of Nettie\'s passing is softened somewhat by knowing that she lived a full, glorious life and expressed kindness and generosity to everyone she touched during her lifetime.
