Make no mistake. Dr. Johnson MADE New Albany Schools what they are today! He came in to a relatively small district, but always had a vision of what the schools could, should, and would be at maturity. His handprints on that community will last forever!

I will always remember Ralph as our “no nonsense, demand excellence” principal at Upper Arlington High School. He has left behind a legacy of decades of successful students and faculty and will not be forgotten. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Christine Solt Savage - UA Class of 88

My condolences to family. Ralph and I had a great professional relationship beginning with a shared service as high school principals ( UA and Reynoldsburg)....during our principalships we often sought close seating in OCC meetings so that we could turn the conversation to topics beyond athletics. He was perhaps the most intellectual principal that I knew and I learned fro him often. Later in our careers, he invited me to move a school reform non-profit into the new facilities at NA in a space for partnership deal. Later we worked at OSU together with Ralph focused on superintendent training and I on principal training. I consider him one of the best. May he rest in Heaven. Sincerely, Dan Hoffman

While not a photo of Ralph, it is a memory of one of the very best days we spent together. In this photo, Terry gives my daughter her first ride on a horse. Every time we said goodbye in person or on the phone, Ralph said to kiss the girls. I loved that. Tom Goodney
