AIKEN, SC -- Michael Charles Wood Sr., age 78, died Saturday, February 1, 2020.

Mr. Wood was born January 18, 1942 in Ft. Bragg, NC to the late George and Pauline Wood. He served his country in the US Army and graduated in 1965 from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC with a degree in business. He was a salesman and area service manager for Goodyear and later Farm Bureau. Mr. Wood was a member of The Sertoma Club of Aiken and enjoyed both golf and USCA Basketball games. His biggest passion was for his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Haas; and a brother, George Wood.

Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty years, Marilyn J. Wood; two sons, Michael Charles Wood Jr. (Jennifer), Prosperity, SC and William Buckner Wood, Aiken, SC; three grandchildren, Jennifer Wood Nichols (Sheldon), Brandon Wood, and Alexander Wood.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in The George Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
