Larry and Faye, So sorry to hear about your mother. It has been many years since I have seen any of you but remember Mrs. Wood very well from Marion Street Baptist Church. My mother thought the world of her. She was a beautiful soul both inside and out. So happy she was able to reach her 100th birthday. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time. I know she will be missed.

So sorry for your loss. Good memories from Marion Street Baptist. Growing up with good parents and guiding us little ones on the right path. We were all blessed to have known Mrs. Wood. The love she showed was an inspiration to us all.

Dear Larry,
It is so very hard to express my feelings about you mom’s passing. I know how very much she meant to you. And, I always wondered why you were always saying, “I just hope she lives to be 100.” And after I read your beautiful, heartfelt tribute to her, now I know. It was her lifelong wish to live to be 100! And that she did. One-hundred and five months! She was so very lucky that you and Faye pledged to never stop caring for her until the day she died. And you were by her side as always promised when she decided it was time to take her leave. You, Faye, Doug and Suzie. And I know as she began her next journey she was looking at all of you with great pride. She knew she had raised some very special children who would be by her side every day until the end like you promised each other you would. There was nothing but joy, caring and happiness in those words you penned for her. May she Rest In Peace now, and may you be proud that your mother couldn’t have asked for anything more than the love you all gave to her so freely.
Love and prayers for strength in the coming days.
Paula

Larry and Faye, I was so sad to hear about your mother and so happy she had celebrated her 100th birthday this year. I heard so many stories from my momma over the years about Arkansas and all of her siblings. I always thought it was so interesting that she and momma were double first cousins! It meant so much to momma that I was able to bring her to Aiken for a few visits. That generation has all passed now and I'm certain there is a reunion going on in heaven with the Spires and Lowes! Sending prayers and love.

Faye and Larry, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I am glad she made it to "100" I loved reading her obituary...learned things I never knew! She was always so nice when we used to come over when I was young. I used to see her in Food Lion a lot before she got where she couldn't drive any longer. We would always chat a while... Thinking of all you, and Thank you for taking good care of your Momma so she got to stay in her home her last days. I love y'all...Velma
