Aiken---Mrs. Esther ?Chris? Blount, 94, wife of the late Jimmy Blount, died Saturday, May 4 at Eden Gardens, Aiken. Funeral services will be held 3pm Monday, May 6, 2002 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, New Ellenton, SC, with the Rev. Randy Taylor officiating. Burial will be held in the Church Cemetery. She was a native of Holladay, Tenn., daughter of the late Rev. John William and Bertha Frank Carnell. Mrs. Blount retired form Dupont after 24 years, was a member and secretary of Wildwood Garden and Civic Club, taught Sunday School, organized and directed the youth choir for 19 years, president of the Le Grander Senior Citizens Club, and member of the Louise Best Circle, oldest current member and charter member of St Paul United Methodist Church, member of the Red Hat Club at Eden Gardens, and selected Mrs. Eden Gardens on several occasions. She was predeceased by her sisters, Vera Louise Thomas, Katherine Veleta Smith, grand sons, Wallace Ronald Henderson, Jr., and Stephen John Henderson. Survivors include her son; Ron Henderson, Aiken; grandson, Rodger Henderson, New Ellenton; three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The family wishes that memorials be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 600 Main St. SW, New Ellenton, SC 29809.
