Funeral Services for Mr. Glenn A. Ayer will be held on Tuesday July 18, 2006 at 11:00am at St. Paul United Methodist Church, New Ellenton. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Church ?Leap of Faith? Fund 600 Main St. SW New Ellenton, SC 29809. Mr. Ayer, 78, of New Ellenton, died Friday at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A son of the late Lonnie and Corine Henderson Ayer, he was born and lived in Bamberg before moving to New Ellenton in 1963.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, New Ellenton. Mr. Ayer was a retired lab technician and had worked for the Dupont Corporation at the Savannah River Site. Mr. Ayer is survived by his wife, Ethel Kizer Ayer, New Ellenton; a son, Glenn Kizer and his wife Becky, Knoxville, TN, a daughter; Kathy Moore and her husband Philip of New Ellenton, a daughter; Cindy Sox and her husband Vernon of Aiken, two brothers; Bobby Ayer of Swansea and Ted Ayer of Ehrhardt, SC, two sisters; Muriel Price, Columbia and Margaret Redpath, High Point, NC and nine grandchildren; Rob Ferguson, Ashley Sox, Michael Sox, Lea Ann Joey McGlothin, Allan Moore, Ryan Kizer, Ashley Thornton, Jessica Moore and Ian Kizer. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Caleb and Kaylea McGlothin and several nieces and nephews.
