I was so saddened to read about your mother following the return of our recent travels. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your mother, Mary Margaret. She was a mentor to me as I began my career as a kindergarten teacher and a "godmother" to my son, Bart, during his baptism. She and your dad gave me one of my first jobs - to "babysit" you girls! I just remember how they made such a lovely couple. What a sweet lady, one who will be greatly missed!
Sincerely, Sharon (Holsberry) Smith

Dave and I are so sorry to learn of the loss of Mary Margaret. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. We enjoyed getting to know her and Jack at First Presbyterian Church in Fairmont.

Please accept our sincere condolences from the Priester family. My mom, Patty, really enjoyed working with Mary Margaret. And Mary Margaret was fun, too. One time doing a cartwheel at Fleming School for her students. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I often visited M&M (as we called her) at Barclay House when visiting my mom. She was a delight - I heard all about WV and her family. I'm sorry to hear this and sending love and prayers from the Tinnes Family (Edith's family). Love, Christy Tinnes

Margie and all Family,
The video tribute captured the essence of your mom and as my friend who I was privileged to know. Mary Margaret brought to me a lot of joy, as did your dad, as Chuck and I lived 'around the corner; from them in Cedar Creek. Having been a deacon at SAPC, I had the same privilege to consult and a few times work with both Jack and Mary Margaret. MM was a steadfast spiritual woman, kind, generous, full of laughter and gave wonderful hugs when needed. She taught me a few things about grief as we shared the same year of our soul mates deaths.
My prayers for God's grace to shine upon you during this coming year (or more) of your grief journey and continued blessings. With heartfelt love,
Lynn Woodard

Suzanne and Margie, we are thinking of you and your family at this difficult time! What a wonderful picture of her.
Your Mom was such a kind person…..It was easy to understand why her kindergarten students loved her.
The two of you possess some of her attributes.
We have been recalling our happy occasions shared.
Our prayers and love are with your families.
Love,
Madeline and Dorothy Oliverio

Our deep condolences to you upon losing Mary Margaret. Spending 12 years in Cedar Creek, we enjoyed many happy times with both your mom and dad! Will never forget the evening with them at The Beach Boys concert in Augusta. Such a fun time!
Always remember how much you were loved by your parents. They were very proud of you and thankful for all the family time together. The last time I spoke on the phone with Mary Margaret at Benton House, she was so happy about her apartment and the great view she enjoyed.
May you all find comfort and peace knowing Mary Margaret has found Eternal Peace and is now reunited with Jack, the love of her long, wonderful marriage. God’s blessings and happy memories always.

Sweet Mary Margaret (MM) was a friend. Before she and I had our struggles we were in book club together and often caught up over the phone. I remember getting together with MM and Jack to go to dinner or just play cards. We enjoyed visiting her in her little apartment at Barclay House where she was very content. MM was always very thoughtful, kind, gentle and dearly loved her family. Mary Margaret will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Mary Margaret was so very special to me from the first time I met her. She was the epitome of a "true Southern Lady". Jokingly, I always told her I wanted to "be just like her when I grew up" - beautiful, caring, kind, so very sweet and dressed to the "nines", at which she always laughed. She was my P.E.O. Sister, the leader of our Cedar Creek book club, and a true forever friend. I will always miss her....

I had the pleasure of providing Mary Margaret hair care service for several years. She was as beautiful inside as she was outside. Her love of her family was so evident to me and anyone who met her. She will be sorely missed.
